SUBSTITUTE FOR

HOUSE BILL NO. 5247

                                                                             A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled                                             

"The revised school code,"                                                  

(MCL 380.1 to 380.1852) by adding section 1140.                             

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

1   Sec. 1140.  If a school district, intermediate school                       

2   district, or public school academy allows institutions of higher            

3   education access to school facilities or activities to provide              

4   information to pupils about educational, vocational, or                     

5   apprenticeship opportunities, the board of the school district or           

6   intermediate school district or board of directors of the public            

7   school academy shall allow the same access to representatives of            

8   associations to provide information about skilled trades training           

9   and apprenticeship programs.
