HOUSE SUBSTITUTE FOR

SENATE BILL NO. 180

                                                                             A bill to amend 1984 PA 431, entitled                                             

"The management and budget act,"                                            

(MCL 18.1101 to 18.1594) by adding section 224.                             

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

1   Sec. 224.  Beginning January 1, 2004, a state agency shall                  

2   not use a 900 telephone number or other telephone system that               

3   charges the caller for access to public information held or                 

4   maintained by a state agency.
