SUBSTITUTE FOR

SENATE BILL NO. 1471

                                                                             A bill to amend 1974 PA 258, entitled                                             

"Mental health code,"                                                       

by amending section 410 (MCL 330.1410), as added by 1995 PA 290.            

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

1       Sec. 410.  Except as otherwise provided in section 402a, an                 

2   individual  seeking who requests, applies for, or assents to

3   either informal or formal voluntary admission to a hospital                 

4   operated by the department or a hospital under contract with a              

5   community mental health services program may be considered for              

6   admission by the hospital only after authorization by a community           

7   mental health services preadmission screening unit.                         

8       Enacting section 1.  This amendatory act does not take                      

9   effect unless all of the following bills of the 92nd Legislature            

10  are enacted into law:                                                       

11      (a) Senate Bill No. 1464.                                                   

1       (b) Senate Bill No. 1468.                                                   

2       (c) Senate Bill No. 1469.                                                   

3       (d) Senate Bill No. 1470.                                                   

4       (e) Senate Bill No. 1472.
