House Resolution No. 91.
A resolution to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Deputy Sheriff’s Association of Michigan.
Whereas, The people of Michigan are thankful for the brave men and women of law enforcement. We appreciate the work they do every hour of the day to protect our cities, communities, homes and families. We are equally thankful that they take the time to advance proper public policy. The Deputy Sheriff’s Association of Michigan (DSAM) is an excellent organization that works hard to make sure this state is more safe and secure; and
Whereas, For 25 years, DSAM has been a strong supporter of, and advocator for, sound law enforcement legislation. Over this quarter-century, DSAM has promoted policy regarding county jails, protection for police officers, and punishment of criminals. In total, DSAM’s work has assisted police officers in their duty and, therefore, has assisted the people of Michigan on their quest for security and peace of mind; and
Whereas, DSAM has also done a great deal of community service work. By educating members of the community about law enforcement and by running training seminars, DSAM helps preempt common mistakes regarding public safety. In addition, DSAM has supported and raised funds for charities, such as the Special Olympics. For such an outstanding record of improving public safety and gracious public service, therefore, be it
Resolved by the House of Representatives, That the members of this legislative body commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Deputy Sheriff’s Association of Michigan. We honor all the members of this fine organization; and be it further
Resolved, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the Deputy Sheriff’s Association of Michigan as a sign of our deep appreciation.
